VANCOUVER, BC January 16, 2013

Resonance Consultancy is pleased to announce it has acquired Tourism Policy Group in New York, expanding its global reach to better advise a growing roster of international travel and tourism clients.

Tourism Policy Group Principal Richard Cutting-Miller brings more than 25 years of travel and tourism consulting experience to the Resonance team, including 16 years as the executive vice-president of the World Travel & Tourism Council. Mr. Cutting-Miller has advised governments and organizations in more than 65 countries around the world on tourism development strategy, tourism planning and tourism policy.

“Tourism Policy Group’s international travel and tourism experience is a natural complement to Resonance Consultancy’s extensive visioning, strategic planning and place branding experience for destinations and developments across North America,” says Tourism Policy Group Founder Richard Cutting-Miller. “We look forward to working together to shape the future of communities, cities and countries around the world.”

In just the past year, Resonance Consultancy has advised the City of Calgary on one of the continent’s largest urban brownfield redevelopments, marketed Hawaii’s most significant new luxury resort development, and created development strategies for Haiti’s Ministry of Tourism.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on our range of experience at Resonance, from the branding of cities to the visioning of entirely new destinations. The addition of Tourism Policy Group will establish Resonance Consultancy as one of the world’s leading tourism and development consulting firms,” says Resonance Consultancy President Chris Fair.

The Resonance team has completed more than 100 visioning, strategy, planning, policy and branding projects for destinations and communities in 65 countries around the world. The company’s process helps both public and private sector clients look ahead to create value-building visions, strategies, plans, policies and brands that foster community, preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment and generate economic benefits for all those involved.
